we will rejoice in the LORD

“Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet i will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.” -Habakkuk 3:17-18.

this next year will be a tough one for kimberly and i. we are not looking forward to being apart. we will be taken care of. things won’t get as bad as they did for Habakkuk and the nation of israel. we will have food to eat, plenty of cash, friends and loved ones to be with, we will even get to talk some…but it is going to be a tough time, being away. this passage could be our theme. we are going to recommit ourselves to the LORD. in the midst of trouble, loneliness, sadness…we will praise the LORD. that doesn’t mean it won’t be tough, but it is the right thing to do. down inside it is what i want to do. God is good, even in the midst of some of the trash He lets us get into.
