back at the base

hey everybody, Kimberly and i got back to jacksonville nc on thursday, i had a little work and training yesterday, but i got the night off, and the rest of this weekend. this is awesome. dc was amazing, they have a ton of huge memorials and cool museums. we will post a video later (the motel’s wifi connection is kind of slow). we have to wait on pics bc we dont have a connector for our camera, but suffice to say we had a great time. and the best part is i come home in like three weeks, this is the best week yet.

hey guys, Kimberly and i are in our nations capitol, and we are having a great time together. we are such nerds that we dont even know what all to do. we also got lost trying to find our hotel last night, but once we did, things got a lot better. today we are headed to the smithsonian to hang out and take sweet pics. holla at you later.

out for a week

hey everybody, i appreciate you all. i will be out for the next week, as i finally get to go to the range. im glad im done with arabic, though i am for from fluent.

today was awesome, i went kayaking with some buddies, ill post pics another time, and then to the beach. i am wore out, but having fun with some good guys helps out a lot around here. after the range this week Kimberly is coming in and we are heading to DC. i am very excited to see her again, and i know this week will fly by.

by the way on youtube you can search for the video “mountain high” the song is by delirious, it has been a real comfort to me of late, but the vid is very sad, and very good, i recommend it. i also found clips to a documentary that came out in 04 called “ears open, eyeballs click” the movie is about marine corps boot camp and the clips are like going back in time for the guys around here. if you want a glimpse of what we did, check out the different clips.

frisataday

kimberly and i made a new day today. we named it frisataday. we really needed frisataday because friday kind of stunk. work was fine for me, but i was in traffic for three hours on the way home. kimberly also had a tough day with the same issue she has had all year long. so once i got home we took 15 minutes to wine, then we took showers (i had to iron) and then at the exact time i was done showering frisataday began. frisataday has been awesome so far. we went out to a romantic restaurant and had a beautiful meal. (they put blue cheese on my steak and i’m still not sure how i feel about that, but i think it tasted good.) desert was freakin’ awesome we had coffee and cheese cake. now we are home and about to hit the hay.
what a sweet day, we start the day with a great dinner and then we sleep till saturday could it get any better? everyone needs a frisataday, feel free to take one at your leisure.

chili with the peeps

tonight kimberly and i got to hang out at a no joke chili cook off. her elementary school hosted a big chili cook off with all the classes competing against one another for best chili name, best taste, and best display. they only announced the first place winner in each category, so we are sure we scored 2nd. it was a lot of fun being “in the community.” we were forced to talk to people who we don’t know (im watching “the office” right now and it is freakin’ hilarious.) and even though it was really awkward it was a ton of fun. Kimberly has such a cool job because she gets to love on all kinds of kids from the neighborhood.
